First National Bank in London had to dispose of a 880Kva Generator before they vacated there head 0ffice recently. They had approached several Generator companies who after several site visits all said that it was impossible to lift and move the set as it was tucked behind the building and originally positioned before the main offices had been built.

Just before they decided to have it chopped up and scrapped they contacted Powerland and we quickly designed up a lifting plan that we thought would work. It required a 220 tonne crane as the reach to the 9 tonne Generator was 37 Metres it also had to be lifted over the top of a 14 storey building.

All method statements and risk assessments including liasing with other land owners were done by Powerland. After a successful outcome and a trip back to the midlands where we serviced and tested the Generator and all its components it is now working 10 hours a day powering a furnace at one of the UK’s largest glass manufactures:
