NHS Trust (North East) Case Study

After being approached by the NHS late last year with a request for a refurbished 1000kva Generator we quickly offered a solution. A unit that we had purchased from British Telecom a few months before was ordered which then went through the workshop where every nut, bolt, seal, belt and moving part was tested / replaced.

The engine was put under rigorous load for 3 hours and the alternator was checked and tested internally. A new digital control panel was fitted and the set was then sent up to Newcastle on the evening ready for the crane that was waiting to lift and position onto a new concrete slab.

This all had to happen between 2.00am and 6.00am in the morning as the Metro station next door had allowed the Trust to use there car park on condition that we finished before the early morning commuters started arriving to go to work. The result - all done in time and commissioning commenced on the same morning - after a coffee or two had been consumed by Powerland Engineers.
