Victron Victron Energy GX Tank 140 – BPP920140100
Tank levels can be read-out locally in the system. The GX Tank is compatible with current senders (4 to 20 mA) as well as voltage senders (0 to 10 V). The connection to the GX Device is via USB, which is also how the GX Tank is powered: no additional power wires required. Tank sender wiring is kept as simple as possible: two of the four inputs provide a 24 V power supply, to power the sender. The other two channels do require an external power supply, and there is a power in terminal together with fused outputs to facilitate that. Upper and lower limits are configurable, to allow using senders that provide only part of the scale, for example 0 to 5 V. To provide a stable reading, the readings are averaged damping. The damping can be configured between 1 and 60 seconds. Faulty sensors and wiring issues are detected: an alarm will be raised when values are out of range. For marine applications, the GX Device can transmit these tank levels on the NMEA 2000 network to be picked up by other displays such as an MFD.

Victron Victron Energy Inverting remote on-off cable – ASS030550120
The load output of an MPPT 75/15 or MPPT 100/15, for example, can be used to control an inverter. Some inverters will switch on when the remote control input is pulled high. The remote control input of other inverters must be pulled down to switch on. Pull down to switch on is needed for the Victron inverters model Phoenix 12/180, 24/180, 12/350 and 24/350. These inverters should be interfaced to the load output of the MPPT 75/15 or MPPT 100/15 with the inverting remote on-off cable. All Phoenix Inverters rated at 3kVA and more and all Multi C’s, Multi’s and Quattro’s also require active pull down to switch on, and the inverting remote on-off cable can be used to interface between the remote on-off terminal and a source signal that turns high when switch on is required. Victron Victron Energy IP65 Battery Charger 12V/4A – 12V/0.8A – BPC120480034R
DC connector Depending on the application, clamps, eyelets or a cigarette plug (all included) can be connected to the charger. Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: the Storage Mode The storage mode kicks in whenever the battery has not been subjected to discharge during 24 hours. In the storage mode float voltage is reduced to 13,2 V to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to ‘equalize’ the battery. This feature prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulphation, a major cause of early battery failure. Protected against overheating and reverse polarity connection The output current will reduce as temperature increases up to 40°C, but the charger will not fail. Output relay protects against reverse polarity connection. Five LED’s for status and mode indication When connected to the AC supply the STAND-BY LED will turn on. No voltage will be present at the output. After connection to a battery (battery voltage must exceed 8,5V), a choice can be made out of three charge profiles with the MODE button: Current limited t0 0,8A and 14,4V absorption voltage. The red LED Current 4A and 14,4V absorption voltage. The red LED >14Ah will be on. Application: Flooded, AGM or GEL batteries. Ambient temperature 10-35°C. Current 4A and 14,7V absorption voltage. The red LED COLD will be on. Application: Flooded, AGM or GEL batteries. Ambient temperature below 10°C, or batteries requiring a higher charge voltage (OPTIMA spiral cell batteries for example). Until the battery is fully charged, the red LED CHARGE will be on. After completion of the charge process, the red LED FULL will be on. In case of reverse polarity connection, the red LED ! will be on. If the red LED STANDBY remains on, even after pressing the MODE button, the connection to the battery is interrupted. The charger always starts in STANDBY mode when connected to the AC supply. Victron Victron Energy Isolation Transformer 2000W – ITR040202041
Features Safety and prevention of galvanic corrosion The Isolation Transformer eliminates any electrical continuity between AC shore power and the boat. It is essential for safety and eliminates the need for galvanic isolators and polarity alarms. Safety is taken for granted in case of a normal on-shore installation. A fuse will blow or a GFCI (Ground Fault Current Interrupter) will trip in case of a short circuit or current leakage to ground. Connecting the ground wire of the shore-side supply to the metal parts of the boat will result in galvanic corrosion (see below). Bringing only the live and neutral wire on board results in an unsafe situation because GFCIs will not work nor will a fuse blow in case of a short circuit to a metal part on the boat. Galvanic corrosion occurs when two dissimilar metals in electrical contact are simultaneously exposed to an electrically conducting fluid. Seawater and, to a lesser extent, fresh water are such fluids. In general, the more active alloy of the couple corrodes preferentially while the less active (more noble) material is cathodically protected. The rate of galvanic corrosion is a function of several variables including area ratios, conductivity of the fluid, temperature, nature of the materials, etc. It is a misunderstanding that galvanic corrosion occurs only in metal and aluminium hulls. In fact it can occur on any boat as soon as a metallic part (the shaft and propeller) is in contact with water. Galvanic corrosion will quickly dissolve your sacrificial anodes, and attack the shaft, propeller and other metal parts in contact with water as soon as the boat is connected to the shore-side supply. It might therefore be tempting not to connect the ground conductor: this is however extremely dangerous because GFCIs will not work nor will a fuse blow in case of a short circuit to a metal part on the boat. The best solution to avoid galvanic corrosion and at the same time prevent any unsafe situation is to install an Isolation Transformer to connect to the shore-side supply. The Isolation Transformer eliminates any electrical continuity between shore power and the boat. The shore power is fed to the primary side of the transformer and the ship is connected to the secondary. The Isolation Transformer completely isolates the boat from the shore ground. By connecting all metal parts to the neutral output on the secondary side of the transformer, a GFCI will trip or a fuse will blow in case of a short circuit. Soft start is a standard feature of a Victron Energy isolation transformer. It will prevent the shore power fuse from blowing due to the inrush current of the transformer, which would otherwise occur. It is also recommended, for optimal safety, to connect the secondary neutral of the transformer to ground when the boat is out of the water. Lower charge voltage and therefore higher efficiency and less corrosion of the positive plate. And the overall result is improved cycle life. Failure modes of flat plate VRLA lead acid batteries in case of intensive cycling The most common failure modes are: Softening or shedding of the active material. During discharge the lead oxide (PbO2) of the positive plate is transformed into lead sulfate (PbSO4), and back to lead oxide during charging. Frequent cycling will reduce cohesion of the positive plate material due to the higher volume of lead sulfate compared to lead oxide. Corrosion of the grid of the positive plate. This corrosion reaction accelerates at the end of the charge process due to the, necessary, presence of sulfuric acid. Sulfation of the active material of the negative plate. During discharge the lead (Pb) of the negative plate is also transformed into lead sulfate (PbSO4). When left in a low state-of-charge, the lead sulfate crystals on the negative plate grow and harden and form and impenetrable layer that cannot be reconverted into active material. The result is decreasing capacity, until the battery becomes useless. It takes time to recharge a lead acid battery Ideally, a lead acid battery should be charged a rate not exceeding 0,2C, and the bulk charge phase should be followed by eight hours of absorption charge. Increasing charge current and charge voltage will shorten recharge time at the expense of reduced service life due to temperature increase and faster corrosion of the positive plate due to the higher charge voltage. Lead carbon: better partial state-of-charge performance, more cycles, and higher efficiency Replacing the active material of the negative plate by a lead carbon composite potentially reduces sulfation and improves charge acceptance of the negative plate. The advantages of lead carbon therefore are: Less sulfation in case of partial state-of-charge operation. Lower charge voltage and therefore higher efficiency and less corrosion of the positive plate. And the overall result is improved cycle life. Tests have shown that our lead carbon batteries do withstand at least five hundred 100% DoD cycles. The tests consist of a daily discharge to 10,8V with I = 0,2C20, followed by approximately two hours rest in discharged condition, and then a recharge with I = 0,2C20. (Several manufacturers of lead carbon batteries claim a cycle life of up to two thousand 90% DoD cycles. We have not yet been able to confirm these claims) Brand Victron Energy Manufacturer Part Number BAT612110081 Voltage 12 Capacity (C20) 106 Cold Cranking (EN) 500 Terminal Type M8 Terminal Layout LH+ Dimensions (Including Terminals) L410 x W172 x H225mm Weight (kg) 36 Warranty 2 Years Battery Technology Lead Carbon

Victron Victron Energy LiFePO4 Battery 12.8V 100Ah Smart – BAT512110610
Rugged A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulfation: • If it operates in deficit mode during long periods of time (i.e. if the battery is rarely, or never at all, fully charged). • If it is left partially charged or worse, fully discharged (yacht or mobile home during wintertime). A LFP battery does not need to be fully charged. Service life even slightly improves in case of partial charge instead of a full charge. This is a major advantage of LFP compared to lead-acid. Other advantages are the wide operating temperature range, excellent cycling performance, low internal resistance and high efficiency (see below). LFP is therefore the chemistry of choice for demanding applications. Efficient In several applications (especially off-grid solar and/or wind), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance. The round-trip energy efficiency (discharge from 100% to 0% and back to 100% charged) of the average leadacid battery is 80%. The round-trip energy efficiency of a LFP battery is 92%. The charge process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the 80% state of charge has been reached, resulting in efficiencies of 50% or even less in solar systems where several days of reserve energy is required (battery operating in 70% to 100% charged state). In contrast, a LFP battery will still achieve 90% efficiency under shallow discharge conditions. Size and weight Saves up to 70% in space Saves up to 70% in weight Expensive? LFP batteries are expensive when compared to lead-acid. But in demanding applications, the high initial cost will be more than compensated by longer service life, superior reliability and excellent efficiency. Bluetooth With Bluetooth cell voltages, temperature and alarm status can be monitored. Very useful to localize a (potential) problem, such as cell imbalance Our LFP batteries have integrated cell balancing and cell monitoring. Up to 5 batteries can be paralleled and up to four 12V batteries or two 24V batteries can be series connected, so that a 48V battery bank of up to 1500Ah can be assembled. The cell balancing/monitoring cables can be daisy-chained and must be connected to a Battery Management System (BMS). Battery Management System (BMS) The BMS will: 1. Generate a pre-alarm whenever the voltage of a battery cell decreases to less than 3,1V (adjustable 2,85 – 3,15 V). 2. Disconnect or shut down the load whenever the voltage of a battery cell decreases to less than 2,8V (adjustable 2,6 V – 2,8 V). 3. Stop the charging process whenever the voltage of a battery cell increases to more than 3,75 V or the temperature increases to more than 60°C. Victron Victron Energy Lithium SuperPack 12.8V 20Ah (M5) – BAT512020705
The batteries can be connected in parallel. Series connection is not allowed. Features Integrated BMS and safety switch The SuperPack batteries are extremely easy to install, needing no additional components. The internal switch will disconnect the battery in case of over discharge, over charge or high temperature. Abuse proof A lead-acid battery will fail prematurely due to sulfation: If it operates in deficit mode during long periods of time (i.e. if the battery is rarely, or never at all, fully charged). If it is left partially charged or worse, fully discharged. A Lithium-Ion battery does not need to be fully charged. Service life even slightly improves in case of partial charge instead of a full charge. This is a major advantage of Li-ion compared to lead-acid. The SuperPack batteries will cut-off the charge or discharge current when the maximum ratings are exceeded. Efficient In several applications (especially off-grid solar), energy efficiency can be of crucial importance. The round-trip energy efficiency (discharge from 100% to 0% and back to 100% charged) of the average lead-acid battery is 80%. The round-trip energy efficiency of a Li-ion battery is 92%. The charge process of lead-acid batteries becomes particularly inefficient when the 80% state of charge has been reached, resulting in efficiencies of 50% or even less in solar systems where several days of reserve energy are required (battery operating in 70% to 100% charged state). In contrast, a Li-ion battery will still achieve 90% efficiency even under shallow discharge conditions. Can be connected in parallel The batteries can be connected in parallel. Victron Victron Energy Lynx Distributor – LYN060102000
Contains a positive and negative bus-bar and provides a connection for 4 individual DC equipment circuits, loads or DC groups. It has a space for individual DC fuses per DC group. There is an optional feature of an LED for each fuse to indicate if fuse is blown. If you wish to use the fuse indication LEDs on the Lynx Distributor, it also requires a connection to a Lynx Shunt. The Lynx Shunt contains the necessary wide input (8 to 70VDC) power supply to output the required 5V (4,5V-5,5V) power requirement of the Lynx Distributor circuit board. RJ11 fly leads are used to connect the Lynx Shunt to the Distributor. This RJ11 cable is supplied with the Distributor in the box. There are two ports on the Lynx Shunt, and it is possible to use either. When all is OK, only the central LED is green; when a fuse has blown (or is missing) the central and blow fuse circuit LEDs turn red. If you are not using all connection points in your DC distribution, it may be necessary to fit dummy fuses to extinguish the red LEDs. A future upgrade is planned to also send info back to the GX device over the VE-can, but is not yet implemented. Fuses Uses MEGA fuses. Please note that some MEGA fuses are only rated to 36Volt (suitable for 24V systems), You must use 58/64V rated fuses for 48V systems.
